What kind of clothing or style do you think is cool and wish were normal?

Like for example, you know those pants from Hot Topic with those huge chains and handcuffs on it that are usually black or red? I know it probably looks stupid to many people, and I think its for goth people, but I think it looks pretty rad.

Another example is emo hair. I kinda like it, but yeah... everyone at school would think I'm emo, and I'd never hear the end of it.

Something normal would be like a polo shirt. So many people wear them, and there's no real cult, subcult, etc. where everyone wheres polos or anything. So apparantly, that's "normal".

So how about you?

Well I have "emo hair" and some dumb kids call me emo but I dont let it get to me.Those pants are pretty cool.I saw some kids wearing them at the mall. . .they were a total clique. At my school everyone who wears polos are refered to as preps which is dumb. . but I just dont like them.I wish those skirts with a lot of tulle were normal and they look so good but its not like itd be practical of me to go out and wear one.I wish arm warmers (+fingerless gloves) were normal but theyre not totally unnormal so I still wear them. And leg warmers.I havent had the nerve to wear them yet. . .

And whenever I wear a band tee,really tight skinny jeans and a belt with studs,everyone calls me goth. . dumb huh?

Just wear whatever you're feeling that day. Don't allow your fear of being labeled an emo or a goth dictate how you should dress. The same people who'll make fun of you are the same ones who wish they had the cajones to dress that way. Just be yourself, ok?

I wear what I like, whether my looks be more mainstream or not. I like to create unique looks, so I don't concern myself with whether I end up looking normal or not----which is how some designers like Jean Paul Gaultier and Miuccia Prada became famous. Both of their clothes are a bit bazaar, but that's why people are drawn to it. In the fashion world, there are just as many designers who are hailed for their wholesome and All-American designs as there are for their Avant-Garde and dark designs.

That said, I would recommend to anyone that they stop thinking in terms of stereotypes (emo, goth, punk, prep, etc...) and wear whatever they like. This is what makes each person unique, and its also what makes fashion fun and interesting. If we all looked alike, life would probably be very boring.

i like the city chic style. i guess more highfashion.. but i live in salt lake city utah lol the most classy people here get is probably american eagle. i like that stuff but i wish i could wear really classy clothes everyday. right now i pretty much just incorperate some really cute things into my outfits like those kinds of shoes, makeup, belts, scarves. everyone at my school still thinks i dress nice.. but i would like to dress really nice and not have people asking what im dressing up for hahah
