I know this is "emo hair" but what would you call it and is there any way that you can get/give directions on how to cut this yourself??

well, it basically looks like male pattern baldness, except a comb-over is not required. The top half of the hair (the part you normally see longer on guys) is cut short then combed over the forehead at an angle just above the eyebrows. I would get a professional opinion on it.
