I'm turning 13 on March 5 =) Anyways I'm not emo but I LOVE their hairstyles...I want it like this but my mom says no...why do you think? Would it look nice on me? She says it's not for me and it's not for my age...what do you think? BTW I have dark brown hair until the middle of my back.

I wanted this hairtstyle aswell, my mum said no!!!! But, my hairdresser told me that it takes so much work in the morning to get it to look good you have to use mousse, straighteners, gel and loads of other things. I just got layers.!!

You can have that cut, but don't style or color it like that. That's basically just a very shaggy layered cut. It works if you have a lot of hair, that way all the layers won't make ur hair seem so thick and poofy. If you're going to a nice salon, just ask the stylist what style would best fit ur hair type and ask about the style u want and if it'll work. Good luck!

Ok, Yes the hairstyles would look kinda kewl, but look at the people wearong them!! They all have lip peircingc, eyebrow peircings, and nose rings! Im 13 also, and I think u just want 2 get lots of attention. But instead of getting a really emo hairstyle, how about some highlights, or layers, or bangs, or cut it short. There r a lot of possibiltys of getting attention but in the right way

Seriously, it's a look but it would be very high maintenance, and gives a certain, shall we say, impression, of who you are as a person that I think your mom is trying to avoid for you, especially at your age. Plenty of time to look like a depressed zombie, if that is still what you want, when you are older.

Well i can see why she got put off with the ugly metal stuck all over their faces! I dont like the 2nd one, its too much. The first one is ok. Maybe just ask her if you can get some layers done and a sweeping side fringe. That would look nice.

Personally, i think that is EXTREAMLY ugly.if ur not emo, i doubt u could pull of an emo hairstyle, because u have 2 have the attitude 2 match. plus, hair grows fast, and after that hairstlye grows about an inch, it will look horrible and you will have 2 cut it again. i do think 12 is a little young for that.im 12, myself(my half bdays march 7lol ) . if ur hairs even the slightsest bit wavy, you will have 2 straghtin it, which will absolutly FRY ur hair. But, if u reallly want it, explkain to your mom exacltly Y u want it (calmly, cuz parents spaz at temper tantrums lol) and happy bday (omg u could pull the "plzzz... its my BDAY!!"card)lol

well when i wanted too cut my hair like that my mum also said "no". but then i showed her a pic when it didnt look much "emo"- and she agreed so i went to the hair dresser. but when i came home it was hella ugly. then it took like 6 month for my hair too grow out and do i did another try, this time it looked more "emo", but still not how i wanted it. and after 6 month again i gave it a third try and its exactly how i want it. - with this i mean, it wont look just like you want it. it might end up gross and ugly, so be sure before you do anything.
