People calling me emo over a silly peom??

Ok so in english we had to write a peom about how we feel, many people got real into it, so did I.

This is the peom I wrote:

There's a dark, dark wood

inside my head

where the night owl cries;

where clambering roots

catch at my feet

where fox and bat

and badger meet

and night has eyes.

There's a dark, dark wood

inside my head

of oak and ash and pine;

where the clammy grasp

of a abeaded web

can raise the hairs

on a wonderer's head

as he stares alone

from his mossy bed

and feels

the chill of his spine.

There's a dark, dark wood

inside my head

where the spider weaves;

where the rook rests

and the pale owl nests,

where the moonlit bracken

spikes the air

and the moss is covered,

layer upon layer,

by a thousand fallen leaves.

I was a bit upset that day, for various reason I wish not to mention. I am in high school, grade 8.

I am a quite popular girl, but recently all the guys have been calling me emo because of the poem, and I am letting it get to me..

Don't worry about what everyone is saying. Your poem is good and it ment something to you. Poetry is a good way to get your emotions out and if you were upset then that's fine.

Emo is a stupid label. Emo is a type of music and even those who claim to be emo don't even know what it actually means! It'll all blow over very shortly, don't worry.

If you don't let it get to you they will stop so just laugh with them or write another wonderful poem.I think they are just a little limited in the brain cell category and don't understand the meaning of intellect

You are over reacting. They keep going because yit bothers you, so just ignore them or try to laugh with them. Maybe everyone has a bit of Emo in them. It could be a lot worse

You seem very tallented for a young lady like yourself to be writing such a detailed poem.

With the calling 'emo', just laugh with them, don't give them more and more urges to carry on with it. If you are obviously not, then you should be hurt when you know deep inside that your not! Once they know your not affected by this name calling then they'll stop, trust me.

What's so emo about your poem? Maybe they just did not look deeper into the thought of the poem. Look, if you were emo, you'd say stuff that connote extreme emotions (that's why it's emo =p).

But on my opinion, this poem of yours, despite its slight grammatical errors, does not sound emo to me. It actually looks - and sounds - nice (because I read the poem and I said it aloud).

The words were well-chosen and the rhymes were nice, so why fuss about some guys who think you're emo and all?

Maybe they're just jealous that they can not write a poem as complicated - yet thrilling - as yours.

as 4 the boys,they need to grow up,those little unmature boys,need to get atleast a tiny taste of being mature.overall,4get abt those losers who called u an emo and live life happily.there r other better things tio do than worry abt being called emo.

just remember, the fact that they are calling you an "emo" means that you got them inside your poem... they were touched with your poem's message but they're just too shy to show... so, in turn, they draw back the attention at you... besides, if they were not touched by your poem, they wouldn't spend time calling you "emo"... you're still great... and they envy you for sure for them not to have the ability to write such an ingenius poetry...

Ok well first,id like to say just how great your poem is! Its very deep and clearly meaningful, so good job!

But,onto your problem, just laugh along with them.If when they call you 'emo',they see ANY signs of weakness then it will just keep getting worse and worse,kinda like a snowball affect.

Just hold your head up high,tell them very obviously your not emo and go about your daily business as usual and if they call you it again have a witty comeback to snap back at them with.

Nothing too mean,just something that will silence the wolves,as it were.

Show your not emo,be happy,smile and laugh along with it.If it goes on for a long period of time though,then maybe you should tell a teacher or something.

hoestly the guys are just teasing you... and they won't stop because they see that it bugs you and when your mad, the guys think it s funny

so what you can do is just pretend like it doesn't bug you and then it should stop

They're doing it to upset you. If you just let it roll of your shoulders and shrug it off, they'll stop doing it. Kids are mean to get a reaction, not because they actually want to hurt you.

Just dont let it get to you or just go along with it they will stop.. when i was a senior in high school i got called emo also even though i looked nothing like one but everyone said i did at first i told them to stop and then i just started going along with it like yes i am and sure proud and just went with it they dont really talk about it anymore that was a year ago i mean every once in a while they bring it up but just say the same thing that i did back then just laugh with it
