Women: I am guy and need hair style ideas?

I have long dark, straight hair and need a haircut soon. Should I keep it long or cut it shorter? Thing is, I get compliments from women in real life with it being long. It's similar to what you see in these two pictures:

I don't want the emo look. Should I keep it the way it is or try something different?

keep it long for awhile then cut it like a surfer guys like Jesse MCcartney or Zac Efron maybe even a fohawk
